Was able to get both kids down for a nap so here it goes... Basically, we just love our home! :)

 

My husband, two-and-a-half-year-old, baby and I have been happily living in a Royal Oak home at Hillside Cottage house since this February. We were casually perusing Denver real estate, with no serious intention to buy until this coming June, but when we toured the home we just couldn’t stop thinking about it. The stunning views, high ceilings, attention to detail — from the beautiful ship lap panels to the industrial, farmhouse fixtures — all caught our attention (and hearts). We fell in love with the home and decided to purchase it before our son Theo came along in March.

 

Since then, we have not looked back. Everything in the house is working perfectly! Steve and his team have been incredibly responsive and timely with any punch list items and with the completion of the basement (when we bought the home it was unfinished). He continues to check in to ensure that everything is working properly and to our satisfaction.

 

After living in his house for several months now, it’s clear that Steve (and his wife Helen) have extremely high standards and take so much pride in their work. As a stay-at-home mom, I couldn’t be happier building our nest and staying “home bound” with our kids here. We are thrilled about our purchase and couldn’t really imagine being anywhere else!

We are writing to say how incredibly happy we are with our new Royal Oak home in Hillside Cottages.

 

You and your team have exceeded our highest expectations in all areas from intuitive design, to highest quality build, to efficiency and livability. When we first saw the new freshly finished house we fell in love with the house, the city, and the view and have absolutely no regrets about our decision to join the growing Hillside Cottages community.

 

Not only is our home beautiful to look at from outside and within, but it is also easy and comfortable to live in with the well-conceived floor plan, efficient kitchen layout, beautiful finishes, and thoughtful touches. You and your team have gone the extra mile with little things like having all the light switches

just where you reach for them and ample and well placed electrical outlets to the big things like the oversized garage, spacious windows, and beautiful Level-5 wall finishes.

 

We love the quality of the appliances in the kitchen and the top-end heating and air conditioning system. The temperature stays very comfortable throughout the day and night without ever having to think about changing the thermostat. And your team has been incredibly responsive in resolving the little things that we notice as we moved in and settled down.

 

We couldn’t be happier with our new home and say a big THANK YOU for designing and building it.

Heidi and I are absolutely overjoyed, stunned actually, at the beauty of our new home. Seeing the carpet now in place, it just seemed to really pull together all the artistic beauty of your custom touch. 

Even beyond the beauty is the thought and care you and your team have personally invested into the final product. It did not go unnoticed the joy you displayed yesterday, Steve, when pointing out the basement’s padded insulated wall; those extra efforts to make our house special. 

While it can be expected, with a project of this magnitude, for small things to not quite turn out exactly as you intended by design, your efforts to resolve go above and beyond. Examples: the high-end stove hood, your fireplace framing, the artistic realization of a different color to the exterior gable, the rework of the exterior wood beam above the front door, crown molding in the laundry room and the custom built-in bench in the guest room. 

When you factor-in the personal touch for a team of window-cleaners hard at work yesterday, your concern to ensure we were aware of the basement floor cleaning scheduled for next week, and your personal tours of the house’s features for Heidi and me, the experience almost overwhelms.

I am especially appreciative of your noticeable and comforting redesign of the yard’s grading to meet - actually exceed - your already high standards. Thank you for the manner your team has scrambled this week to ensure we are in a completed home in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

A personal extension of gratitude to your entire team as well Steve. Helen’s expert touch in interior design, is exemplified by everything from the tiles and quartz guidance through the stunning chandelier and lighting selections, fireplace guidance, carpeting and paint color and most especially - that striking metal railing.

The overall beauty and quality of craftsmanship of your team’s professional talents truly validate the investment of a custom home builder. Heidi and I would welcome any opportunity requested to share our stories of this exciting journey to watch our warm and inviting home unfold over the course of these past few months.
